//edit! Added art examples! Winners will be able to choose from these three styles...//This weekend was Animecon. It was very long and tiring! Especially as I hadn't slept very well before the convention, due to my birthday and exams starting the Wednesday before...
Anyway!Friday was a "calm", non-cosplay day. Me and my friend hopped the tram at 3:15 PM, only to end up having a 10-minute delay, because of all of the Football (read "soccer") supporters. By the time we got there, it was around 4:15 PM and we were stuck in line for a complete hour after that! Luckily we were still able to attend the opening ceremony on time as that's one of the main reasons I wanted to go on Friday (among picking up our ticket before Saturday)... We examined the location and hunted around the dealerroom on that same day. I purposely hadn't brought any money with me, so I had to deal with window shopping!
Saturday... no need to wait in the queue! Yay!
I cosplayed as Kagamine Len default. Other than a tall guy, I was the only one out of all of the Lens cosplaying the default version! A lot of people wanted photos of or with me, including an adorable 12 year old boy and the lovely Tawii! I was stalked by a Meltdown Rin cosplayer, too. She kissed me twice...
We had a Vocaloid photoshoot set up for 12:00, but as our photographers never showed up, we simply sat on the stairs and hoped people would atleast take group shots of us, which they did! This only lasted a little over 10 minutes, though.
I also met Yuegene Fay, Kamui and Yaya Han on this day! They were all very kind, Yaya Han was just a dear and Kamui enthusiastically answered all of my questions (and let me touch her armor). Poor Yuegene had places to go to and still had such a long line that we didn't get much time to "socialize", but I still got an autograph and a photocard of her, despite all of the hassle!
KOTOKO's concert was unfortunately delayed by 45 minutes, meaning that it also ended later than expected, which lead to waiting for my bags at 11 o'clock at night. Despite all of the trouble, her concert was great. She was very excited and everyone enjoyed watching her, because she was so upbeat and cheerful!
By the time we were home, it was already 12:30! We were both exhausted and didn't get to bed until around 2 in the morning...
Then came Sunday! I wasn't cosplaying on that day, because walking around in a costume for 16 - 18 hours the day before was bad enough.
I finally got the opportunity to meet Reika after waiting in line for an hour. She was half an hour late, but that's fine, because she's the reason I wanted to go to the convention in the first place! It was all going well until she spoke to me and gave me an autograph. After that, I started crying. Sobbing, actually!
It was weird, because I've never cried out of happiness before and I didn't feel it coming! Reika-san seemed very concerned and hugged me to make me stop long enough for a photograph, although it was very difficult and our photo is probably very ugly thanks to me... But it's a memory, so it's fine!
I purchased her Uta no Prince-sama artbook, which she also signed (with my name!), hugged her again and then left. It took me about 45 more minutes to calm down after that, but it was totally worth it, because I had been waiting almost 7 years to meet her!
After that, me and my friend went to the karaoke room, waited about an hour and a half to finally sing our songs and then grabbed a train home. At 4:30 PM, my life was finally back to normal and it felt really nice to be able to sit down after 48 hours of fun!
I'm still recovering from the weekend now, but I'm planning to return next year!
